As with every design I make there’s a derby story behind this one. An off-hand remark by a veteran at a scrimmage practice basically went “This travel team in white in that corner, this other travel team in black, in this corner, and everyone else in red in the other corner.” The very first members of “Team Everyone Else” made their own shirts with sharpies and a lot of whiskey the following week. Personally, I have a sharpie shirt made by the “Captain.” The week after that we organized and, like derby itself, made our own team of misfits and had an amazing showing at scrimmage practice.
The fact of the matter is, at some point, we all skate for “Team Everyone Else” so why not make it respectable and put it on a shirt?
These make great scrimmage shirts for travel and visiting other leagues when your own team merch doesn’t come in the shirt color you want or need. I like to keep a black, white, and red one handy in my gear bag.
